Day 65 - Murray Beach to Cornwall - Friday August 24th, 2012 - 92 km

We wanted to catch the first shuttle to PEI so that we can explore more of Charlottetown and so I woke up and was ready by 7 am. Breakfast was eggs, so i wasn't interested in hot stuff. Only porridge, gorp, yoghurt and banana for me.

We got to the confederation bridge after 16km of easy cycling and made it before the bike shuttle started. We took some pics and goofed around the bridge. It was really scenic and there were hiking trails all along the water. We got on first shuttle, and entered yet another province today. Once on the other side, Michael had promised me some chocolate covered chips and had raved about it all along. He got it from COWS and they were delicious. I shared them with Ron, Michael, keith, Fred, and Jayne. i have learned that when you experience joy, share it and so i did.

We rode along the coast and it was pretty scenic with potato fields alternating with corn fields and a good sunny day. We passed by Victoria by the sea and stopped at a chocolatier shop and I had their special factory coffee special ( glass lined with fresh Belgian chocolate on the inside, blended coffee from Ethiopia, Columbia and 1 another country), and i had 4 of their chocolate tastings of which 1 was complimentary since it was my b'day. I wanted to buy some souvenirs but it was hot and i am certain it would have melted before i would made it back to camp.

We (Michael, Keith, Ron, Justine and I) diverted from main route and followed the Hwy-1 all the way to Charlottetown. We had lunch at a fish and chips shop and I had curried vegetables with rice and ordered their curried coleslaw. Michael and Justine were on cooking duty and we had to camp early to cook. But note before stopping at world famous COWS ice-cream place in PEI. I had a 2 scoop with PEI strawberry and a caramel crunch.

Dinner tonight was corn and seafood chowder, salad, and an ice-cream cake for dessert. It was a fantastic day with prevailing winds, perfect temperatures and company of some fantastic people.
