I tried to sleep in today and relax from last week’s cycling
but I found it tough to just lay in the tent and was up at 6.30 am. I quickly
got my act to together and was ready after a small breakfast (just fruits) and
I was ready to do my laundry. There was no laundry at campground and there was
a Laundromat about 2 km away from the camp so Ron and I left to do our laundry.
Alan and Emilie were doing their laundry and since there was free wifi, I
update my blogs and connected with work colleagues.
I left the Laundromat around 11.30 in hopes of going back to
camp, having lunch and then going to the bush plane museum. I got back to camp
and didn’t really felt motivated to move. I sat around and then about 1.30 pm
Adam came back and we decided to go to town and take a look at the bike shops.
Although I didn’t need anything I went along and we visited bike shop, local
mall, had lunch at Subway, dollarama, used book store (where I bought 2 books)
and then at Dairy Queen. During Byron’s birthday we missed out a bit on the
ice-cream and had decided to go to dairy queen to get a cake and split it
between 4 of us (Byron, Trevor, Adam and I). We ordered a cake and after a few
surprised looks from the staff we devoured the cake and went back to camp high
on sugar and almost ready to crash.
We got back to camp around 6.30 and I cooked up tofu curry
and ate it with bread and buttermilk. I prepared my bike for tomorrow and then
heavens opened up and it started to rain cats and dogs with thunder showers and
lightning. In the midst of cold and rain, I tucked in back of the truck and
took shelter for almost ½ hour.
I hit the tent around 10 pm but wasn’t asleep close to 10.45
pm.
